No One Like You
A new play by Neil Jones and Suzanne Marston
Directed by Elaine Bates
31 March and 1st April, 2007
The Junction, Cambridge

1947. Cambridge. Two lovers. A bright college boy and a factory girl. 2007. Cambridge. Two teenagers. A studious sixth-form girl and a rebel boy.
No One Like You tells two parallel stories of young people living, studying and working in Cambridge in both 1947 and 2007. Deeply affected by the rivalry between town and gown and the roots of their city, the young couples struggle to resist being controlled by the one thing that haunts them…the past.
This production was written especially for CLASH and CYT2 youth theatres as part of their City Lives project exploring the heritage of Cambridge and their own roots. It reflects on the real past of the city: the myths, the legends and the people who have shaped its history. The production was performed at The Junction, Cambridge on Saturday 31st March and Sunday 1st April 2007.
This production was supported by The Heritage Lottery Fund, The Junction, Cambridge City Council and Cambridge Folk Museum.
