Young Mothers Work Experience & Training Project
We are currently running a project helping young mothers aged 18-25 in Cambridge to return to work or further education.
The project will offer participants, work experience and skills training in Classworks costume store for up to 6 months, where they will learn about theatrical costume design and making clothes, repair, care and maintenance of fabricsĀ as well as business and marketing skills associated with hiring costumes to the public.
Each participant will receive help on preparing for interviews and writing CVs and by the end of the project will have built up a portfolio of work which will be presented at an exhibition.Young mothers interested in taking part in the project should contact Project Manager Sue Pearson on 01223 321900.
This project is jointly funded by the East of England Community Grant Fund, the European Social Fund and the Learning and Skills Council. The aim of the programme is fund small organisations who support people to overcome barriers, so that they can access mainstream employment and skills provision.
